AES publishes Improving Dialogue Intelligibility in Media

With increased audience complaints following the transition of TV sound from the analogue era to the cinematic-style wide dynamic range digital multichannel broadcast, the AES Technical Committee for Broadcast and Online Delivery has published Technical Document (TD1009), Improving Dialogue Intelligibility in Media, which diagnoses the intelligibility problem and presents solutions.

London’s St Luke’s prepares for next generation

Among London’s most distinctive cultural spaces, London Symphony Orchestra’s (LSO) St Luke’s is a home to world-class performance, recording and learning, as well as being a hub for the LSO’s artistic and community work. But after more than two decades’ use, the technical infrastructure at the Grade I-listed church was struggling to support the scale and ambition of the activities inside. Conceived to modernise St Luke’s and expand its digital and technical capabilities, the Future Ready project set out to equip the venue for the next generation.

Myungsung church upgrades DiGiCo mixing facilities

Located in Myung-il-dong, Seoul, Myungsung Presbyterian Church is the largest Presbyterian church in the world, with more than 30 church plants, new churches branches and ten ‘screen’ video churches. The church recently moved from the DiGiCo SD7 it has used for more than 14 years to a Quantum 852, supplied by Soundus.
