Harzer Bergtheater adopts permanent sound system

New management and a five-year renovation at the open-air Harzer Bergtheater in Germany’s Harz Mountains recently saw its prior dependence on rental systems make way for a its own L-Acoustics line array system shaped by Soundvision acoustic simulation software.

Finnish brewery celebrates beer with immersive museum

A new immersive installation at the OLVI Foundation Brewery Museum – Finland’s only brewery museum open to the public – The Spirit of OLVI is a five-sided space that uses light, image, vibration and spatial sound to allow visitors to explore the 145-year history of the country’s last major independent brewery. Located in Iisalmi – home to loudspeaker manufacturer Genelec – it relies on a sophisticated Genelec loudspeaker set-up.

Staffordshire Uni offers UK’s first eSports courses

The first higher education facility in the UK to bring an eSports broadcast course to market, the University of Staffordshire has won itself a place as an industry pioneer. The facilities now being offered to students at the University’s Stoke-on-Trent campus include a 60-seat eSports arena, two broadcast galleries and well-equipped studio.

Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse gets anniversary upgrade

Ireland’s leading visitor attraction, Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse, has seen new audio systems installed as part of a new live music concept from John Brady Events (JBE), as well as new installations in two visitor zones. Featuring d&b audiotechnik loudspeaker systems, the work was planned using d&b’s ArrayCalc acoustic prediction software, and employ d&b’s xS-Series installation loudspeakers.

The university recently upgraded the audio system in the athletic centre swimming pool, using gear from Danley Sound Labs, Allen & Heath and LEA Professional.
