Martin Audio plays strong hand at Sydney’s Bristol complex

Reopening after being closed for four years, Sydney’s former Bristol Arms Hotel encompasses five storeys including restaurants, bars, a nightclub, rooftop and event spaces. Retaining much of its nightclub roots, the Calypso nightclub – its ceiling adorned with 300 mirror balls – is now armed with Martin Audio’s CDD coaxial differential dispersion series.

Sand and Spectera

The Groningen open-air venue on the outskirts of Meerstad presents event organisers with an unwelcoming cocktail of wind and rain, and also ever-invasive sand. ‘No matter what you do, the sand just gets everywhere,’ says Kasper van der Spoel, responsible for the theatre’s RF equipment at the Zummerbühne Groningen (Groningen Summer Theatre) musical theatre premiere that was recently staged at the venue. Happily, the choice of Sennheiser’s Spectera wireless audio system proved up to the task.

German colliery reborn as Moto59 Foodgarage with RCF

The former Ewald colliery in Germany’s Ruhr region has taken on a new span of life as the Moto59 Foodgarage. Where miners once worked underground, the Nord Machine Hall of Shaft 7 combines industrial architecture, detailed interior design, and a professional RCF sound system.

Lyric Theatre Belfast debuts L-Acoustics LISA production

Northern Ireland’s only full-time self-producing theatre and marking its 75th anniversary in 2026, the Lyric Theatre Belfast has become the island’s first to use an L-Acoustics L-ISA Immersive Audio with the world premiere of Denouement, a new drama, written by John Morton and produced in-house.

NY’s Lincoln Center ensures performances past and future

Since opening its doors in 2004, the Rose Hall at the Jazz at Lincoln Center complex in New York has been the nerve centre for the prestigious organistion’s performance, archival recording and educational programming efforts. Recently, it has seen the installation of an intricate, modular audio production system built around DAD AX64 Next-Gen AD/DA/DD and audio routing interfaces to provide the quality and flexibility requires to preserve the music JALC champions for future generations while also offering audiences new performances.
