CUK upgrades Uni of Birmingham Medical School theatre

Among the largest in Europe, the University of Birmingham’s Medical School is a leading centre for medical education, using A/V technology is a major part of its practical learning. After a recent review, some facilities were deemed in need of an upgrade, including the 450-seat Leonard Deacon Lecture Theatre – Renkus-Heinz beam-steering solution was the answer to more intelligible sound.

Tateside lead integration of Old Granada Studios rebirth

Opened in 1956 as the UK’s first purpose-built TV centre, the Old Granada Studios remains a landmark of central Manchester. Once home to Coronation Street, the studios are now undergoing major redevelopment featuring event spaces and hospitality venues including Manchester’s first Soho Houseand Mollie’s Motel & Diner. London-based system integration specialists, Tateside, led the A/V installation across both the Soho House & Mollie’s sites.

Miami claims first US SSL Oracle mixing console placement

Miami talent development and collaboration company Electric Feel Entertainment has expanding its operation with a new facility in the Wynwood Arts District housing two music production studios designed by WSDG, alongside creative, administrative, and hospitality spaces. At its heart is the first Solid State Logic Oracle Future Analogue mixing console to be installed in the United States.

LEAP Group established with Fraunhofer IDMT

Leading professional audio manufacturers Nugen Audio, RTW, Steinberg and Telos Alliance have teamed up with Fraunhofer IDMT to establish a common approach to measuring and presenting dialogue intelligibility across broadcast, production and postproduction environments. The companies have formed the LEAP Meter Manufacturers Group (LMMG) and, with Fraunhofer IDMT, developed the LMMG Dialog Intelligibility Implementation Agreement.
