Barney Jameson has joined the leadership team of Second Warehouse – an online platform designed speed up and simplify pro A/V cross-rental – as Chief Marketing Officer, as the company rolls out across Europe and the United States.
As well as MD of The Inside Story marketing agency, Jameson is also the co-founder of Security on Screen BV, a director of the Security Industry Group, a board member of not-for-profit organisation Make Music Day UK, and a trustee of grassroots music charity Local & Live Music.
Jameson previously helped launch Second Warehouse in 2018 to European pro A/V rental companies for whom equipment cross-hire is both an essential source of revenue and the backbone of day-to-day inventory management. A planned roll-out across the US was paused when Covid-19 struck. Back with fresh funding, new headquarters in the US and a strengthened leadership team, including CEO Phil Van Peborgh, Head of Sales Will Lewis and Founder Stuart Kerrison, the company is on the move again.
‘Second Warehouse is very dear to my heart and I’ve been delighted to watch it make such a strong return from the challenges of the pandemic,’ Jameson says. ‘There are big plans underpinning the platform and a strong team of industry leaders steering the way forward. I consider it a compliment to be on the squad.
‘Most importantly, with the current challenges around finding the equipment needed to meet demand, rental companies in the pro A/V sector need Second Warehouse. Our industry wastes billions every year just trying to track down the gear needed to stage events, while others have inventory sitting idle. It’s a huge problem and Second Warehouse is the solution.’
‘I am glad to have Barney back onboard as a member of the team,’ says Van Peborgh. ‘His knowledge and expertise will be invaluable as Second Warehouse grows to become the primary platform for pro A/V cross-rental.’
