Parc de la Villette embraces L-ISA immersive sound

With its convergence of science, music and art, Paris’ Parc de la Villette is among Europe’s most dynamic cultural districts. It is home to cultural institutions including the Philharmonie de Paris to Europe’s largest science museum and the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, well as the Grande Halle de la Villette which hosts showcasing everything from international art exhibitions to rock concerts and avant-garde theatre.

Having been among the world’s first V-Dosc installations in the mid-1990s, the Grande Halle has now restated its place at the forefront of performing arts technology with an L-Acoustics L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound system.

Duo Gastrobar opens in Dubai

On the Business Park in the luxury residential area of Dubai Hills sits the Duo Gastrobar, the lastest haute cuisine restaurant to open in the fast-developing neighbourhood.

Founded by Duoband Restaurant Group from St Petersburg, headed by Renat Malikov and Dmitry Blinov, it has already won a Michelin star for its European cuisine (with a twist of Asian), served while their clientele luxuriates in an interior characterised by light, colour and natural materials, with musical ambience delivered by a Martin Audio CDD loudspeaker system.

EM Acoustics sponsors Longplayer project

At midnight on the 31 December 1999, Longplayer, a 1,000-year-long piece of music composed by Jem Finer, began playing. This year, British loudspeaker manufacturer EM Acoustics sponsored the project, donating loudspeakers for a sound system upgrade at the Trinity Buoy Wharf Lighthouse listening post, where it has been playing for the past 25 years.

At 230-capacity standing, the Shimokitazawa ReG livehouse (music venue) close to Tokyo’s Shinjuku and Shibuya districts, is an intimate venue where some of Japan’s brightest independent bands regularly appear. Key to its sound provision is a DiGiCo Quantum 338 mixing desk supplied by Hibino.
