Heritage Audio has announced the HA 240 Gold Foil Verb plug-in, modelled on an original EMT Gold Foil Reverb (Serial # 0183) from the 1970s heavily used by company CEO Peter Rodríguez during the early days of his recording career and subsequently stored in the vintage-sounding recording equipment developer’s factory since.
The plate reverb was once thought to be non-functioning following years languishing in storage waiting to be cannibalised for spare parts, until one of Heritage Audio’s engineers opened up the heavyweight hardware unit for testing and find it was working perfectly, With years of storage actually improving its performance in ways that time lends to some vintage equipment, the company set about capturing the sound and vibe of this once classic and authoring the plug-in.
Heritage Audio’s goal with HA 240 Gold Foil Verb was ‘to create a tool to channel creativity and put the focus firmly back on the music in music production’.
The resulting HA 240 Gold Foil Verb native plug-in’s resemble those on the hardware unit, bolstered by extras that include an Input gain control (-10dB to 10dB); an Output gain control (-10dB-10dB); filter control (effectively a low-frequency management tool offering 0, -4dB, -12dB or -24dB at 100Hz cut); a Low Freq control (-12dB-12dB at 150Hz); High Freq control (-12dB-12dB at 5kHz); fully-adjustable Dry/Wet mix; Spreadknob (stereo width of the reverb); Pre Delay (delay before the onset of the reverb, 0-250ms); and Reverb Time control.
The native version of HA 240 Gold Foil Verb is available to purchase as a 64-bit AAX, AU and VST3-compatible plug-in for macOS (10.15.7 and higher, with both Intel and Native Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3/M4 compatibility) and Windows (10 and 11) directly from Heritage Audio.

The plug-in is available free to owners of any i73 Pro family products, being automatically added to their collection. A €50/US$50 loyalty price of €99/US$99 is available to owners of any previously-released Heritage Audio plug-ins.
