‘Chris Martin was singing live while George’s vocal was a recording of ‘A Different Corner’ – but not a studio recording,’ says Michael’s long-time sound engineer, Garry Bradshaw. ‘This was a live take from one of his concerts on the Symphonica tour For me, hearing his voice again really raised the hairs on the back of my neck.’
Vegas’ new Park Theater
New to the Las Vegas Strip, the MGM Resorts International’s Park Theater is the city’s largest and most technologically advanced venue – bringing immersiveness to the theatre.
Holding 5,200 in its standard configuration – but able to accommodate 5,800 or even up to 6,300 people at peak capacity – the US$90M development is set adjacent to the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. Regardless of is configuration, every seat is intended to give ‘fifth row centre’ sound thanks, in large part, to an L-Acoustics K2 loudspeaker system specified by Montréal-based Scéno Plus and installed by the Las Vegas division of Solotech.
Il Divo take their Pasión to North America
Following the successful UK and Europe legs of their Amor & Pasión tour, Il Divo are preparing for a further 40 dates across the US and Canada between September and November 2017.
With London-based Capital Sound having supplied an Outline GTO C-12 system for Europe, Special Event Services (SES) is stepping in with its GTO C-12 to for the North America tour.
Historic Antwerp venue continues major transformation
With a major two-phase transformation that began in 2009, Antwerp’s Queen Elisabeth Hall & Congress Centre is building a multifunctional concert venue incorporating a spacious congress facility. The project brings with it the requirement for an expertly engineered sound system – a task entrusted to Face.
The equipment that has been chosen for the job by the Belgian distributor comes from Renkus-Heinz, Powersoft and Martin Audio.
DiGiCo’s Croatia Promo
Offering wide-ranging event production services including equipment rental and merchandising, Croatia audio rental company Promo Logistika operates under the slogan is ‘everything is possible’. To this end, it has acquired a DiGiCo SD7 digital mixing console, purchased through DiGiCo distributor, MK Light & Sound. The consoles will be used across the company’s entire range of projects, from corporate events and concerts, to television shows and theatre production.
‘We wanted to have an SD7 because there wasn’t one in the region,’ says Promo Logistika’s Zoran Biškupić. ‘Although we already have a digital mixing console in our inventory, we wanted to be able to offer the very best and that’s the SD7.’
