Argentina distributor Equaphon Sistemas de Sonido has the STS Touring System around the Línea SLA V7, an active line array system using the Powersoft Digimod 3004PFC4 amplifier module kit. The amplifier offers power factor correction and DSP processing board, along with a large heat sink. The set-up is monitored using Powersoft’s Armonía software suite.

Atilra Convention CenterThe first system has been installed at a multi-purpose at the Atilra Convention Center auditorium in the Santa Fe city of Sunchales. ‘The Powersoft technology allows us to present different audio set-ups depending on the specific requirements,’ says Equaphon MD Rubén Branca. ‘For instance, we can set up for theatre, presentations or conferences with translation cabins, as well as for 3D movies with audio surround. The technicians are very happy with the flexibility that this system offers.’

The Powersoft system was chosen for its flexibility, reliability, low power consumption and post-sales support. ‘Although it was not a design requirement, our audio designers considered it an important asset in setting-up and managing the complete system,’ Branca explains. ‘In a fixed installation, it is vital to have equipment that will perform efficiently over time, as well as being cost effective because of its PFC technology.’

The opening of the Atilra Convention Center was marked by a big show using a sound system comprising 12 STS Linea V5 line array elements per side, powered and optimised by Powersoft. ‘All Powersoft presets are made for the complete range of STS Touring Series products so we can ensure optimum performance,’ Branca says. ‘And of course it gives us the opportunity to use a powerful tool such as Armonía.’
