Located in Northeast India, Patna Women’s College has installed two Allen & Heath Avantis mixers in its newly built 2,500-seat Veronica auditorium.

The newly built 2,500-seat Veronica auditoriumThe college was founded in 1940 and was the first higher education institution for women in Bihar, and recently invested in best-in-class audio, video and lighting systems for the venue, all handled by Punjab-based Soundxperts’, who were selected to undertake the project on a turnkey basis.

The college’s auditorium stage boasts a large space that can accommodate more than 350 performers for live performances of bands, cultural programmes, plays and the school’s own events. The facility can also be used for video conferencing, which is why four cameras and 14 display screens are installed in various zones including the green room, VIP room, control room and main hall.

The Allen & Heath Avantis mixers play key roles in handling the various uses of the large venue, with one console handling the main FOH mix, and a second Avantis serving as a monitor console at the stage. An Allen & Heath AHM-32 audio matrix processor, integrated via an S-Link card connected to a DX168 and DX012 expander, controls the main PA and all surrounds, and offers preset recall from the front panel that can quickly reconfigure the auditorium from a live venue to a cinema.

Soundxperts was able to deliver the project within the stipulated time frame, working with Sun Infonet and purchasing and installing recommended products from companies including Shure, Audio Focus and Quest Engineering in addition to Allen & Heath.

According to Sun Infonet Senior Application Engineer, Kallol Nath: ‘Allen & Heath’s AHM Audio Matrix Processor is perfectly suited for installs with multiple sources and zones. The range of I/O expanders that can be used with AHM really expands the horizon and it can easily take full control of an entire system with surrounds, green rooms, control room and so on. It is the perfect marriage of flexibility and power.

‘Avantis handles the FOH and monitor mixes for the acts performing at the venue. Equipped with a gigaAce card and a DX Hub, Avantis controls the stage as well as the control room and multiple inputs coming from the Shure wireless microphones, and also provides enough inputs and outputs for any other jobs needing to be done.’

Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Tejasvi Prasad Yadav, opened the auditorium and praised Soundxperts for creating an international-level auditorium in the state of Bihar.

Soundxperts owner Amninder Warraich, holds the Delhi-based distribution company in high regard: ‘Able to complete large and varied audio solutions under one roof, Sun Infonet is known for their commitment, timely delivery, technical support and after-sales service.’
