Bret Michaels at the Epicenter Ballroom

A month after taking delivery of an extensive Vue al-Class line array system, New-York-based Dynamic Productions deployed an al-12 rig for former Poison front man Bret Michaels at the Epicenter Ballroom in the new Resorts World Casino in Monticello.

Dynamic joined the Vue line array network in November 2018 to enable aggressive growth goals for its core event production business, citing growing market demand as a key driver for its decision.

‘We’re seeing Vue’s presence much more frequently on a number of substantial riders every day,’ explains Dynamic President Brian Rosenblum. ‘As we look to expand into more concert and festival work, we want to set ourselves in front of the next big thing in sound reinforcement, which we foresee to be the al-Class line array systems.’

For the Bret Michaels show, Dynamic’s head audio engineer, Joe Davidson, deployed an al-Class line array system as the mains, comprising eight al-12s per side, and eight ground stacked hs-221 ACM subwoofers; while two hangs of al-8s flown above hs-28 subwoofers delivered side-fill. Four h-208s bearing Vue’s large-format neodymium compression drivers with Truextent beryllium diaphragms supplied exceptional high-frequency clarity and output for front fill. VueDrive system engines provided all networking and amplification.

‘I love the ease of set up, particularly on gigs like this one,’ Davidson says. ‘But what really gets noticed is the Vue system’s power and sonic quality – which the metal lovers in the audience really noticed.’

According to Rosenblum, the Dynamic team grows increasingly impressed with the Vue system’s clarity and vocal intelligibility with each deployment. ‘While we knew we were onto something when we bought into the Vue network, with each show our technical team is further convinced that the Vue al-Class systems will assist us in advancing to the next level of the production industry.’
