2B Heard has secured exclusive UK representation for Germany’s innosonix GmbH. Effective immediately, the agreement sees 2B Heard offer full distribution and support for the manufacturer’s innovative ranges of advanced multichannel class-D installation amplifiers.

innosonix MA32/DFormed in 2009 as an engineering start-up, Coburg-based innosonix identified a growing demand for high-density channel amplifiers to fulfil home automation, marine and technical acoustics, as well as 3D immersive audio applications. The resulting product range is centred around multichannel amplifiers with a strong focus on flexibility.

Accordingly, the recently launched Maxx series offers 32 configurable input and output channels combined with features such as FPGA-based DSP with FIR and IIR filters, class-D output stages, full remote monitoring, universal power supplies and input options including AES3, Dante, Madi and AES67. The range also offers web-based software for ease of operation.

The announcement comes at a time of unprecedented growth for 2B Heard, whose recent move into a new dedicated Bedfordshire headquarters coincided with new representation agreements with both Astro Spatial Audio and SSL. The addition of innosonix to the company’s portfolio – also incorporating K-array – creates a blend of solutions for the audio installation sector.

‘There’s absolutely nothing else on the market of a similar nature with such unique capabilities – these amplifiers have the highest channel count that I know of,’ says 2B Heard’s Dave Wooster. ‘The products are ideal for any number of installation projects – environments where there are multiple rooms with varied speaker requirements such as theatres, offices, shopping centres, restaurants, museums, fitness facilities… the possibilities are endless. The Maxx series amplifiers are completely configurable with straightforward web-based control software.’

‘We are proud to have found such a competent partner in 2B Heard, who can help us lead the market in multichannel 3D audio by focusing on these kind of projects,’ adds innosonix CEO, Markus Bätz. ‘This appointment is a perfect fit with our ongoing development of multichannel amplifiers, leading the way to ever more cost-effective and smart 3D sound systems.’
