Under new distribution agreements, HK Audio and Dave Hill Designs will raise their profiles in the US market.

Adding HK Audio’s Elements portable PA system to the Korg, Lâg and Vox lines it already carries, Korg USA takes on exclusive US distribution as of January 2011. ‘In line with Korg USA’s longstanding reputation as a brand builder, we welcome the opportunity to develop the HK brand in the US,’ Korg USA President, Joe Castronovo says. ‘HK is a high-quality and respected brand in Europe, and we’re proud to now represent them in our market.’

The HK Audio Elements system is an line-source system that links modern line-array technology with the easy handling of compact PA systems. Consisting of six components, Elements offers a portable sound reinforcement solution that can be readily adapted to fit differing requirements. Components can be added or removed from the system via the E-Connect integrated coupler/bus.

‘Korg USA has a reputation as a strong brand builder and great sales organisation. With their support and efforts, we will establish Elements and HK Audio firmly in the US market,’ adds Andreas Mayerl, Director of International Sales for HK Audio.

The TransAudio Group, meanwhile, will handle Dave Hill Designs hardware and software, including the new Europa I class-A mic preamp and an RA TDM plug-in that emulates amplifier overload.

‘Dave Hill is one of the most significant inventors of our day in professional audio,’ says Brad Lunde, President of TransAudio Group. ‘He is the rare person who has had a major impact both on hardware and software. nThe chance to work with him is an honor and a privilege, and I am confident that, like everything else he has touched, Dave Hill Designs will be a major factor in the marketplace.’

Having designed many of Summit Audio’s early products, including the TLA-100 tube leveling amplifier, and founded Crane Song  Hill’s capabilities in both the analogue and digital domains have earned him a cult status within the industry. Most recently, he was incremental in the design of Avid’s Heat engine for Pro Tools 9.
