UK loudspeaker company EM Acoustics has appointed Tom Lee Engineering (TLM) as exclusive distributor for Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau.

EM AcousticsThe agreement was announced at Pro Light & Sound Shanghai and follows nearly two years of discussion with Hong Kong-based TLM and extensive product testing. TLE has taken delivery of a ‘significant’ EM Acoustics inventory including six X3 high-Q array enclosures plus flying gear and 12 MSE-118 Quake subs, as well as a selection of smaller products.

‘Good things are always worth taking your time over,’ says TLE CEO, John Lee. ‘We take our business arrangements very seriously and we won’t take on a line until we are sure that both parties will benefit from the arrangement. I’m pleased to say that we have reached that point with EM Acoustics who now offer an excellent range of products. Ed [Kinsella] is a perfectionist and a very good designer. The results show in the sound quality produced by EM Acoustics loudspeakers. We are honoured to represent them in China and look forward to doing good business together.’

‘I regard TLE’s decision to come on board as a positive affirmation of where EM Acoustics stands today,’ says EM Acoustics International Sales Manager, Alex Schloesser. ‘We now have a complete portfolio that includes products for every application from monitoring, fills and delays right up to arena-sized PA systems. Indeed, the fact that our massive Quake subwoofer systems can now be complemented with the X3 high-Q horizontal array system launched at Frankfurt this year marked a significant step forward for us, and was doubtless the element that convinced TLE that we could be partners.’

‘Tom Lee Engineering is a major player in the Asian market and the fact that we can work together means a lot to me,’ he adds. ‘We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship for both parties and I will support Tom Lee Engineering in every way I can in the quest to grow EM Acoustics in China, Hong Kong and Macau.’
