Constructed over two years during the coronavirus pandemic, Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) new headquarters encompass two five-storey buildings and occupy 440,000sq-ft of rentable space in Spring, Texas. A high-tech haven for visitors and more 2,200 HPE team members, it is an interactive and immersive space equipped by i.e. Smart Systems.
Persuaded by the quality and design of Void Acoustics loudspeakers, i.e. Smart Systems recommended Void to HPE, with their installation resulting in ‘a vibrant audio landscape that has exceeded all expectations’.
The basketball court sports two Void Nexus 6 enclosures, two subwoofers and a pair of Air Vantage loudspeakers for fill. HPE’s 100ft x 40ft screen in the central courtyard needed a sound system that matched the scale of its visuals, and so is flanked by a pair of Nexus 6 loudspeakers that meet all volume expectations. Meanwhile, the lively sports bar at the heart of HPE’s outdoor space is home to two subwoofers and a set of Tri Motion loudspeakers from Void’s Air series.
The main challenge for the installation centred around delivering punchy, powerful sound in a busy outdoor environment without compromising on fidelity. Some loudspeakers had to be strategically mounted around a glass walkway beneath the screen, presenting a unique challenge that i.e. Smart Systems expertly navigated.
