A new, purpose-built music lounge in Qingyuan City in Mainland China’s Guangdong Province, MI City has been fitted out with an extensive Amate Audio system by Hong Kong-based distributor, Majestic Trading Company.
The installation covers the entirety of the two-storey, 628sq-m club, and is primarily centred on an Amate Audio X210P line array system and JK218W4 subs comprising 53 cabinets distributed throughout.
The main FOH system comprises two hangs of six X210P line array elements, flown either side of the DJ booth, with eight JK218W4 subs along the front of. Further down the room, flown above the centrally located bar, left and right delay hangs of five X210P elements provide coverage for the tables and seating in the area beyond the bar; along with a further four JK218W4 subs in the delay positions, and ten more in boundary positions around the wider area of the club. Six X15LTP loudspeakers provide booth monitoring and coverage in ‘alcove’ areas behind and to either side of the DJ position. Coverage in the upper floor is provided by four two-way JK15 systems and three JK218W4 subs.
The system required considerable room calibration and tuning prior to and after seting up. ‘During the planning stage, we used Ease Focus to calculate the height and angle required to position and fly the X210P cabinets,’ says Majestic Trading team leader, Frankie Ma. ‘After installation, we used AFMG SysTune to fine-tune the system.
‘At the end of it all, our client was very satisfied with the Amate Audio products, and in the future they are looking to roll out the MI City bar brand throughout Mainland China.’
