New Zealand wireless and audio technical specialist Virscient has announced the LiveOnAir audio platform, targeting applications including including digital wireless microphones and in-ear monitors.
The product of many years’ experience delivering differentiated wireless connectivity solutions for professional and consumer audio OEMs, LiveOnAir is designed to meet the needs of professional live performance, LiveOnAir supports 24-bit audio and sample rates up to 96kHz. With various narrow- and wide-band RF transceiver options, LiveOnAir can support short range (up to 10m or 30ft) or long range (up to multiple kilometres/miles) applications in globally-available unlicensed spectrum.
In addition to audio support, LiveOnAir is able to deliver (Audio In to Audio Out) latencies of under 5ms for Bluetooth LE and around 3ms for UWB. Use cases for LiveOnAir include digital wireless microphones, In Ear Mics and Gaming accessories.
LiveOnAir supports both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint topologies, and includes industry-standard security mechanisms based on the NIST-approved Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with Elliptic-Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH). Options are available to enable standards-based interoperability modes through fallback to Bluetooth or LE Audio transports.
