Telos Alliance has made two additions to its family of streaming audio encoders and processors, the Z/IPStream X/20 and Z/IPStream R/20 Stream Encoders.

Z/IPStream X/20 The successor to the earlier Z/IPStream R/2, Z/IPStream R/20 is a dedicated 1U-high encoding and processing hardware unit supporting AES/EBU, Livewire and AES67 I/O. The Z/IPStream X/20, like its rackmount cousin, is an all-in-one streaming audio encoder and processing platform, but implemented in software for use on Windows PCs and servers.

‘Z/IPStream X/20 and R/20 continue to provide all of the same high-quality codecs and versatile encoding features you’ve come to expect, including Adaptive Streaming to support Apple HLS and Microsoft Smooth Streaming formats,’ the company says. ‘But wait – there are new capabilities available.’

The new platform options include the use of Omnia Forza technology, sophisticated 5-band audio processing with a sonic profile that delivers consistent, polished audio, with Sensus codec conditioning for low bitrate streams, and a smart UI for users to craft their signature sound. There is also Nielsen and Kantar watermark encoding for audience measurement, and the Déjà Vu surround sound upmixer from Omnia founder Frank Foti, which transforms stereo content into enveloping 5.1 multichannel audio.
