Claimed to ‘outperform up to four small-format line array elements in medium venue applications’, Amate Audio’s Xcellence X102FD V-shaped geometry cabinet with Active+ integrated amplification and DSP control platform delivers 3kW and 136dB SPL continuous output.
The X102FD uses a symmetrical dual 10-inch LF driver arrangement with a 3-inch titanium diaphragm, 1.4-inch neodymium HF driver and aluminium rotatable horn. Partnered with the X218WF sub bass cabinet, the X102FD offers a ready phase-aligned, full-range ‘plug-and-play’ PA system for venues and events of up to 1,000 people.
The X102FD can be deployed either vertically or horizontally, due to its rotatable horn by means of a ‘no tools required’ pull, turn and release mechanism. In vertical FOH applications, the horn provides (HxV) 80° x 60° dispersion (in its default position). In the horizontal plane – for applications such as front fill within a large-scale line array system, or close to ceiling hanging in an auditorium – quick rotation of the horn maintains (HxV) 80° x 60° dispersion. Similarly, (HxV) 60° x 80° coverage can be obtained in either plane.
The Active+ platform is operated via rear-mounted 3.5-inch TFT colour touchscreen GUI that allows system configuration of individual cabinets prior to stacking or rigging. This combines user-configurable system management parameters and application-specific system presets that provide near-instantaneous set-up of the most common cabinet configurations in the most regularly encountered applications. Remote Ethernet or Wi-Fi control is supported via Amate Audio’s DSPStudio application. Active+ also provides Dante audio networking on the X102FD, via two rear-panel Ethernet ports.
