Genelec 8320/8330/7350Genelec has introduced a new generation of Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) systems with two new compact two-way monitors – the 8320 (4-inch woofer, 0.75-inch metal dome tweeter, each powered by dedicated 50W amplifiers) and 8330 (5-inch woofer, 0.75-inch metal dome tweeter, also powered by dedicated 50W amplifiers); and a new complementary subwoofer: the 7350 (8-inch woofer, powered by a 150W amplifier).

The 8320 and 8330 monitors feature Genelec’s Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE), made of recycled die-cast aluminium, as well as the advanced Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technology.

With floating-point DSP engines for signal processing and Genelec-designed class-D amplifiers, SAM automatically optimises and aligns each monitor for relative levels and time of flight, as well as the individual room response compensations. If the monitors or the projects move between rooms, users can expect that SAM technology will achieve a high level of monitoring consistency with neutral imaging and low distortion.
