Italian loudspeaker manufacturer B&C Speakers has introduced the 18DS115 subwoofer.
The 18-inch 18DS115 features a 40mm long, 4.5-inch diameter (116mm) copper-clad aluminium wire voice coil. With 1.7kWAES power rating, 98dB sensitivity, and more than 16.5mm of Xmax travel, this high-energy subwoofer represents a ‘significant step forward’ from similar models in the B&C range.

‘This next evolution subwoofer uses a new, longer, four-layer aluminium voice coil,’ says Director of Sales, Ron Tizzard. ‘The result is more energy in the gap, higher sensitivity, lower distortion and better overall performance.’
The first samples of the new driver are expected to be shipped from Italy in early Q2 2017.
