Transducer company Lavoce Italiana has added the DN20.300T, a new 2-inch throat neodymium magnet compression driver, to its range of premium large-format HF devices.
DN20.300T is a new version of the flagship DN14.300T 1.4-inch throat model that uses an optimised throat adaptor engineered to expand the exit to without compromising performance while improving thermal dissipation from motor to horn by increasing the adaptor surface area in direct contact with the driver motor.
Like all Lavoce compression drivers, the electroacoustic design of DN20.300T has been developed using advanced nonlinear and linear modelling techniques, which predict frequency response and second order harmonic distortion in physical prototypes and optimise phase plug channels and compression chamber design, to deliver low distortion devices with very linear and stable frequency trends to 20kHz.
DN20.300T offers a 220W programme power rating, 108.5dB sensitivity, a 800Hz crossover point, and features a 3-inch edge-wound copper-clad aluminium voice coil on a one-piece Titanium diaphragm and surround. Together with its patented Integral Input Surface phase plug topology –which provides a smooth input surface on the phase plug to eradicate unwanted resonances in this critical high-pressure area – the DN20.300T will deliver a consistently 2-inch throat performance.
