Following the Hi-X55 model, Austrian Audio has announced its Hi-X65 professional over-ear headphones for professional monitoring for mixing and mastering.

The company’s development of Hi-X (High Excursion) technology – ‘from decades of experience’ and today’s technologies – is key to the sound of the Hi-X65. All Hi-X series headphones use a 44mm driver and a ring magnet system allowing improved airflow and claiming the strongest magnetic field in its class. The ring magnet, combined with a copper-clad aluminium voice coil, reduces the weight of the membrane and the voice coil connected to it, allowing the membrane to move or change direction faster, providing a more responsive impulse reaction.

The Hi-X65 also provide a high level of comfort, with ear pads made of soft memory foam that have been redesigned from the Hi-X55 to provide more space for the ears without increasing the external dimensions.

The breathable construction ensures good ventilation, while supporting the acoustic design. The soft memory foam padding of the headband has a recess for the head seam, significantly reducing contact pressure. The comfort and optimal fit allow work on time-consuming audio projects without fatigue. All hygienic components, including headband and ear pads, can be easily exchanged and replaced, ensuring comfort remains the same over time.

All moving and load-bearing components are made of metal for maximum load capacity. The Hi-X65 has a sturdy folding construction and comes with a carrying bag.

With a 25Ω impedance, the Hi-X65 offers optimum power and headroom regardless of audio source – high-end headphone amplifiers, reference AD converters, analogue mixers, mobile players and notebooks.

Included exchangeable cables of 1.2m and 3m length (tailored to the technical data and subtleties of the headphones connect with the headphones with a secure locking mechanism. A 3.5mm stereo jack plug ensures consumer compatibility, with a quarter-inch stereo jack adapter included for professional connections.
