Tascam has added the MA-BT240 Multifunctional Mixing Amplifier to its Compact Commercial Series, for use in retail stores, restaurants, cafes, office environments, educational facilities and similar spaces.
The MA-BT240 feature set includes the ability to switch between low and high amplification impedance, Bluetooth reception for content streaming, a microphone input for paging and ducking for the mic input.
With a half-rack form factor that allows it to be placed on a table or shelf, or rack mounted with the optional AK-RS05, the MA-BT240 delivers 240W high impedance amplification for powering 70V or 100V loudspeakers in distributed audio systems. It may also serve as a low impedance (120W/two channels) amplification solution for driving loudspeakers that present 4Ω or 8Ω loads.
The MA-BT240 includes a switchable front panel Mic/Line input and a rear panel Mic/Line input that supports its paging function. A ducker is available for the mic to automatically lower the music level when an announcement is made. It has two RCA line inputs on the rear panel. A built-in Bluetooth receiver allows the amplifier to be fed background music and other audio sources wirelessly – the Bluetooth antenna can be wired for extension and the pairing point can be changed to a preferred position.
The MA-BT240 supports Mono L+R/Stereo switching in Low Impedance mode. Providing still greater control of the output, the master volume can be adjusted from external controllers. There is also a Line Out to facilitate the addition of more zones by cascading the output signal to another power amplifier(s).
