Having counted more than 15m visitors since its opening, Valencia’s Oceanographica is one of the largest aquaria in Europe and among the most important marine parks in the world. To deliver audio on a level with its exhibits, the park called on Lynx Pro Audio systems to serve its daily dolphin show.
In all, 20 Ionic-100 column speakers and eight DR-N12 subs have been installed in around the dolphinarium, including in the roof of the amphitheatre and around the edges pool. The roof now houses 12 columns in combination with six subs –six groups of two columns per sub evenly distributed across the sapce. The remainder of the cabinets are fixed close to the pool to serve the first rows of seats, with two further subs hidden from view. With a capacity of 1,500 people, this dolphinarium is one of the biggest in the world.
The park offers a huge 110.000m2 space, where all the seas and oceans are represented, from the Artic to Red Sea, including island habitats. It is home to more than 500 fish, including sharks, moray eels and sturgeon, as well as other species like seals, birds and penguins. And now it has some column speakers too, from Lynx Pro Audio.
