UK spatial audio innovator Audioscenic has appointed Chris Spearing as Chief Executive Officer.

Former Vice President of Sony’s Consumer Division, Spearing brings experience spanning partnerships, market development and distribution in both professional and consumer-facing technology to the company behind personalised Beamcasting spatial audio technology.

Chris SpearingSpearing’s appointment comes as Audioscenic continues to expand its relationships across the consumer electronics, gaming and audio industries, following the 2026 launch of its Windows APO and launch into Lenovo’s Legion series. In his new role, he will focus on sharpening the company’s strategy, developing key partnerships and expanding the reach of Audioscenic’s technology across new products, platforms and markets.

‘Chris brings exactly the combination of commercial experience, industry relationships and partnership-led growth that Audioscenic needs for its next stage,’ says Executive Chairman, John Croteau. ‘His understanding of consumer electronics, along with his track record of building businesses through strategic partnerships, will be invaluable as we continue to scale Audioscenic.’

Throughout his career, Spearing has focused on helping technology businesses identify new opportunities and translate innovative products into sustainable commercial growth. His previous positions include Strategic Advisor, Vice President of the Consumer Division at Sony and senior roles with companies including PDP, Logitech and Microsoft, across audio and gaming sectors, where Audioscenic already has strong partnerships.

‘I’m excited to be joining Audioscenic at such an important point in the company’s development,’ said Chris Spearing, CEO of Audioscenic. ‘Our technology has the potential to fundamentally change how people experience audio. From making tools to create immersive audio more accessible to creators, to bringing that same technology to a wide range of devices, from laptops and soundbars, to gaming systems to displays - bringing a new level of immersion, delivering the audio experience the creator intended.’

‘Most people still associate spatial audio with headphones or complex multi-speaker surround sound systems,’ Spearing adds. ‘Our job is to change that expectation by showing what is possible: immersive, directional sound, straight from the speakers already built into the devices people use every day. Our integration with Lenovo Legion proves it works at scale on a laptop. The next step is bringing that same experience to more brands, more categories and across more price points, making it something consumers simply expect.’
