APG has expanded its European distribution network into Scandinavia with the appointment of PSS Professional Sound Systems

PGR, PSS and staff from Denmarks RadioJoining established sales partners in the UK, Germany, Belgium and Italy, as well as an extensive domestic network throughout France, PSS is based in Rødovre, just outside Copenhagen. The move followed a series of demos and listening tests, with PSS in vesting in a full complement of APG equipment, including a Uniline system complete with full APG racks (amplifiers and DSP), as well as the complete range of DX loudspeakers, SMX15 stage monitors and a number of dedicated installation products.

The Uniline system has gone straight onto a new music competition TV show called Mentor, taking the prime time slot on DR1, which was previously occupied by X-Factor. ‘A significant factor in our decision to invest in APG for the Danish market was the reaction of a number of our clients to the demos,’ says PSS Sales Director, Torben Aalykke. ‘We invited a number of high-level live sound engineers, including those who work in TV, to an APG demo in Paris, and they were genuinely impressed by what they heard. In fact, their reactions went way beyond what we’d expected, to the point where Robert Rohr, who is head of live sound at Danish Radio [Denmark’s national broadcasting company] and one our biggest and most prestigious clients, decided on the spot that he wanted Uniline for Mentor.’

According to PSS CEO Lars Ømann, APG is the ideal brand to accompany their development in the pro audio sector: ‘Everything we have seen and heard with APG inspires confidence. Technically, APG’s products are superbly designed and engineered, and we couldn’t have asked for better support. Having Mathieu Delquignies come over to commission and tune the system for Mentor has got us off to an excellent start with a very important client, and further reinforces our position in the Scandinavian pro audio market.’

APG’s VP Global Sales, Bruno Garros, agrees: ‘From a corporate perspective, our presence in Scandinavia now assures us a global presence throughout northern and southern Europe which is entirely consistent with our international business plan,’ he says. ‘PSS is a highly respected company in Denmark, and especially well connected in the TV/broadcast world where APG is already strong. They also have a number of projects with major rental companies and in theatre installations where APG is also tried and tested. We’re very pleased to have PSS as a partner in Denmark and we’re convinced that they’ll be successful with APG products across the board.’
