Claiming ‘first of its kind in the broadcast and pro-audio industry’ status, Canford has launched an e-catalogue facility to provide customers with the benefits combined of a website and a paper catalogue.

Canford e-SourceThe e-Source replicates its paper counterpart and allows users to create and post orders, and to download and print individual pages and sections of The Source – Canford’s 1,500-plus page printed catalogue – with fully specified product listings and application notes.

Once users have identified a required product, it is added to a basket (in the usual ecommerce way) and ordered online. Alternatively, orders can be created and saved for placing at a more convenient time. Multiple lists can be created and then saved and recalled, making it easy to work on multiple projects at once. The product pricing can be displayed in a choice of currencies to suit the user and customers with special pricing arrangements will see their own specific pricing and price breaks for quantity once they have logged in.

There is also a facility for making notes against products – for example, to highlight key specifics for easier comparison of multiple products. Other features such as search and bookmark aid in identification of products of interest or the swift return to a previously identified product. Users will also have the facility to download pages or whole sections, enabling them to create a personalised catalogue with products and pricing tailored to their own individual or corporate requirements or that of a specific project.

‘We are sure this is going to be a valuable additional aid to our customers and that the flexibility this offers will be immediately recognised,’ says Marketing Director, David Holloway. ‘We are looking for as much feedback as possible from interested customers and supply partners in this final beta stage before we go live and we will be using that feedback to fine-tune the live version of the e-Source.

‘We anticipate full launch being before the end of 2012’
