Among the events marking the 2012 Formula 1 European Gran Prix in Valencia, Scudería Ferrari’s main sponsor – Banco Santander – threw a private party for members of the team, directors and invited guests. The event was held at a restaurant nestled in the dunes of Valencia’s Playa del Saler, with sound reinforcement handled by local company Sonilight – who turned to DAS Audio for the event.
Sonilight called on DAS Avant systems to create the ambience for the guests, using eight stand-mounted Avant 15A loudspeakers throughout the venue. The systems handled the sound for the different speakers at the event, including speeches by Banco Santander President Emilio Botín and Fernando Alonso, Ferrari driver and two time F1 world champion.
The three-day Grand Prix meet also saw Sonilight supporting pre-event training, the classification round and the race itself, where DAS Aero 12A line array systems delivered the sound to the stands. The sheer amount of equipment deployed was impressive – more than70 Aero 12A systems were distributed throughout the stands along the circuit, as well as in front of the grandstand opposite the pit at the finish line.
The experience proved valuable for Acústica, the company responsible for the circuit’s sound reinforcement. Mounted on truss podia, the DAS systems gave the Acústica technicians what they were looking for, coverage for the different areas of the circuit as well as high sound levels.
