The Air Entertainment Group, the content creation company comprising the Air and Strongroom brands, has launched a post equity service, based on its postproduction and music scoring facilities for the UK film market.
‘This service represents a step change for Air,’ says Air Entertainment Group CEO, Paul Woolf. ‘We have long been involved in the film world from a musical perspective, but more recently we have been building our audio and picture postproduction services for film. Offering post equity deals to the right projects will allow us to further develop our reputation in the film market, show tangible support for the UK film industry, and help to get some great stories on the screen.’
Formed in March 2011 yar as part of a restructure by Air Studios, the Air Entertainment Group is owned and managed by Richard Boote, Paul Woolf and Danny Kellard. It was created to produce and deliver content to broadcasters and distributors. In this new move, it will offer each carefully selected project a competitive price on postproduction services and take an equity stake in the film.
‘As well as our excellent audio and picture postproduction facilities, we are able to offer producers the use of the world-renowned Air Studios for their music scoring,’ adds Frankie Jacobs, Head of Post at Air Post Production. ‘In addition, we can advise producers on how to get the most from their post budgets, ensuring that funds are deployed in the best possible way for each individual project.’
The first film to benefit from Air Entertainment Group’s post equity service is Riot on Redchurch Street, directed by Trevor Miller and starring Sam Hazeldine, Alysson Paradis, Lois Winstone, Jesse Birdsall and Les McKeown, and featuring original songs by Siobhan Fahey. More projects will be announced shortly.
AirPost also continues to offer a broad range of postproduction services to film and television projects that do not require the post equity service.
