Based in Much, Germany, Audio Music has expanded its rental inventory with 32 dBTechnologies VIO L1608 line array elements. The investment further strengthens the company’s long-standing partnership with dBTechnologies, and brings its rental stock within reach of covering the entire VIO product range.

Gerald Albrich (Audio Music) and Michael Pötz (dBTechnologies)From shareholder meetings, conferences and trade fairs to corporate summer events and large-scale productions, the company has employed on the Italian manufacturer’s loudspeaker systems across the German-speaking market as well as throughout Europe. This latest acquisition reflects a relationship built over many years on trust in product quality, reliability, and customer support.

‘We have been working with dBTechnologies for many years and know that we can rely on the products completely – both in the day-to-day rental business and on demanding live productions,’ says Audio Music MD, Gerald Albrich. ‘With the VIO L1608, we are adding a lightweight and compact line array to our system portfolio while maintaining impressive performance capabilities. This allows us to cover virtually every customer requirement, from compact point-source applications to large-scale line array deployments.’

The VIO L1608 is the newest member of the VIO line array family. Although its external dimensions are comparable to those of a conventional compact two-way array, the VIO L1608 is engineered as a true three-way system. Two 8-inch neodymium low-frequency transducers are combined with a coaxial MF/HF section and powered by a 1.6kW RMS class-D amplifier. An optimised waveguide and a low crossover frequency of approximately 650Hz allow parts of the midrange spectrum to be controlled through the horn, resulting in consistent horizontal coverage, even SPL distribution and a natural, open midrange response across the listening area.

A key innovation is dBTechnologies’ newly developed side-firing bass reflex port design. The laterally positioned air ducts minimise airflow turbulence, stabilise internal pressure and improve low-frequency efficiency. The result is a high output for a cabinet of its size, combined with good transient response even at elevated sound pressure levels. Weighing 22kg, the enclosure remains compact and easy to handle, delivering the performance of a larger line array system while retaining the flexibility and logistical advantages essential in today’s rental market.

With the addition of the VIO L1608, Audio Music now operates one of the most comprehensive VIO rental inventories in the professional event technology market.
