Business music streaming provider Soundtrack Technologies has announced that its hardware Soundtrack Player is now compatible with Audinate’s Dante ecosystem.
This collaboration bridges the gap between A/V networking and commercial music streaming. By enabling Dante directly on the Soundtrack Player, integrators can now route licensed, high-quality music to any Dante-enabled device – including loudspeakers, amplifiers and processors – via a local network. All new and existing Soundtrack Players are Dante-enabled free of charge when enrolled in Dante Director. This allows customers to modernise audio stacks without additional licensing fees for the player hardware.
Audinate’s cloud-based Dante Director is accessible to installations of all sizes, offering remote monitoring, management and security for Dante audio networks, allowing IT/AV officers to manage sites, users and device health from anywhere.
‘We have been exploring the content side for some time now,’ says Mark Gerrard, Product Manager at Audinate. ‘Since background music is widely used with Dante, making that easy for our users is a natural progression. Soundtrack is at the forefront of the industry, so collaborating with them to be part of our Dante Director offering is an obvious choice that delivers immediate value to our customers.’
Background music is a frequent use case for networked audio in installed systems, and this partnership brings together the usability of Soundtrack’s streaming platform and the scale of Dante Director’s site management, benefitting both end-users and integrators.
‘In our mission to provide businesses with a music service designed for their needs, this partnership responds to the growing demand for Audio-over-IP solutions in the market,’ says Product Manager Ecosystem, Hampus Ribbing. ‘Making it easy to deploy Soundtrack with Dante installations has been a frequent request for a long time. The playback reliability of the Soundtrack Player, combined with our flexible music management features, makes this offering especially compelling.’
Key Benefits of the Integration include compatibility between any Dante-enabled Soundtrack Player, reducing cable clutter and installation time by using existing IT infrastructure, and central control of both music and audio distribution. These come with access to the world’s largest licensed music catalogue for business with the Dante ecosystem.
