From October 2025, Lito’s Place has been able to offer Dolby Atmos mixing services to clients and host in-person demonstrations at its base in Malta. These sessions will allow clients to experience the potential of immersive audio and understand how this latest dimension of sound delivery can transform projects.

Lito’s Place is a leading audio facility on the Mediterranean island, and is now Malta’s first dedicated Dolby Atmos Music Studio. The new immersive mixing space is built around an Audient Oria audio interface and monitor controller and is the realisation of a three-year vision by owner and audio veteran Manolito Galea – known as Lito. With more than 35 years in the industry, he has designed the facility to be a forward-thinking hub for immersive audio.

Lito’s Place owner, Manolito Galea at his Audient mixing console‘This truly feels like the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Lito’s Place,’ says Galea. ‘I’m especially proud to say that this is the first Dolby Atmos music studio on the island of Malta – something that means a lot to me, both personally and professionally.’

Housed in a separate room from the control room, the system runs in a 7.1.4 configuration, with the flexibility to upgrade to 9.1.6 when the time’s right. ‘When the Audient Oria launched, I ordered it straight away,’ Galea says.

‘It actually sat boxed in my studio for about a year, waiting for the right moment in the Atmos build. Once I set it up, I was blown away. The integration with Sonarworks has been seamless, and it just fits perfectly into my workflow.’

The room is also acoustically treated with Artnovion panels and equipped with Eve Audio monitors. I also designed a custom cable management system and installed speaker grids throughout for a clean, efficient set-up,’ Galea says.

Galea extended his thanks to the teams at Audient, Eve Audio and Dolby UK for their support throughout the project.
