Powersoft’s Duecanali amplifier platform has become the audio backbone for a wide range of performances and community events in Brazil, with more than 100 Duecanali 1604 amplifiers now installed across Sesc São Paulo’s network of performance venues.
The multi-site programme has been steered by designer and consultant Reinaldo Pargas, whose company, AVM Projetos e Consultoria em Tecnologia, has been working with Sesc (Serviço Social do Comércio, Social Service of Commerce) since 2003 on projects that balance the organisation’s strict technical standards with the real-world needs of touring artists and educators.
Established in 1964, Sesc is a private organisation funded by São Paulo’s business sector to ‘improve the quality of life of employees and their families’. As of 2025, the operation maintains 43 centres, offering a variety of courses, exhibitions, concerts, dance shows, lectures and other cultural and educational activities on a daily basis.
Since Sesc São Paulo began working with AVM Projetos, 14 new Sesc centres have opened including Sesc Belenzinho, which is renowned for its experimental theatrical programming and swimming pools.
The Duecanali 1604 delivers 800W/channel at 4Ω or 8Ω (1kW at 2Ω) in a compact footprint, or up to 2kW per 4Ω in bridge mode, giving designers freedom to drive both low-impedance loudspeakers and 70/100V distributed lines as required by each room. The DSP+D variant chosen by AVM adds onboard processing and Dante/AES67 audio networking, enabling inputs to be routed directly over IP and tuned in Powersoft’s ArmoníaPlus software without the need for an external DSP.
‘Each Sesc project starts with the same two requirements – we follow SESC’s technical guidelines to the letter and we make sure artists have what they need to deliver the best possible experience for the audience,’ Pargas explains. ‘Powersoft’s Duecanali 1604 DSP+D amplifier platform has been key to helping us to meet these standards.
‘The compact size, high power output and low distortion levels of the amplifiers, in addition to the ease of controlling them digitally using ArmoníaPlus software and the Dante connectivity, have contributed tremendously to the successful implementation of these projects.’
Sesc São Paulo’s Powersoft inventory is expected to expand as the Sesc network continues to grow. New Sesc facilities in Marília and Parque Dom Pedro II (in São Paulo city) are slated to open in the next 18 months.
