Central to the attractions in Yunhe’s Wooden Toy Town is the Fairy-Tale Theatre which regularly hosts toy fairs and exhibitions celebrating quality and quantity of children’s toys lovingly produced here. The theatre recently made a significant investment in DiGiCo Quantum mixing consoles, a reflection of its own commitment to quality production.

Located in the town of Yunhe in Zhejiang Province, China, the 696-seat Fairy-Tale Theatre has two new DiGiCo Quantum 338s to serve its main stage and double side stages.

The audio team chose the Quantum 338s for their versatility, including 128-input channels with 64 aux or sub-group buses, 24 x 24 full processing matrix and dimmed features across the surface for minimal distraction when in use.

Fairy-Tale TheatreOne Quantum 338 is used as the main venue console, with the second mirrored as a backup. The ability to mirror the consoles simplifies operation and enables real-time synchronisation, drastically reducing potential downtime caused by equipment failure within the system. It also reduces the chance of human error by allowing an easy overview of the consoles and simplifying teamwork.

Zhao Haozhi, Deputy Manager of the Product Department, for audio suppliers RAC, DiGiCo distributor for China, was involved in the purchase and installation. He explains what makes this theatre so special: ‘Yunhe Fairy-Tale Theatre benefits from exquisite architectural design and visitors will be impressed by the modern, minimalist style,’ he says. ‘The stage equipment is professional and comprehensive and the team insist on high standards, so the DiGiCo Quantum 338 was a natural choice. The result is truly next-level, no matter what type of performance is showing, the sound system is well suited to deliver a fairy-tale experience.’

The premier of Hymn of the Earth, was the first performance in the theatre with the new DiGiCo consoles. Performed by The China National Opera & Dance Drama Theatre Traditional Music Troupe, it was a worthy test of the capabilities of the venue and its sound system. The success of this performance paves the way for more throughout the year.

‘We are proud of the work we do with venues like Yunhe Fairy-Tale Theatre’ Zhao Haozhi, concludes. ‘Seeing the benefit of investing in great tools like DiGiCo and the transformative effect that can have on the creativity of theatre shows is very rewarding. Alongside DiGiCo, we will continue to support the theatre’s performances with excellent audio technology, helping Yunhe’s cultural vibes to shine brightly.’
