Having worked as a DJ and in professional audio sales, Anthony D’Elia now finds himself in A/V production as President and Executive Producer for audiovisual event production company, Revelation. In his present role, D’Elia regularly calls on EAW loudspeaker systems for projects that have recently included Dream Ride Experience fundraiser and the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School Commencement, an appreciation dinner event for Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an installation at Medway Community Church.
With more than 250 years of history to its name, Medway Community Church (MCC) has long been a respected and essential part of the Medway, Massachusetts community. However, the church’s simple two-speaker PA system did not reflect this status, and the Revelation team was called into address the problem – to design a system that would provide higher-quality sound and even coverage. As MCC’s worship space presents a difficult acoustic layout that includes four balconies, EAW’s MKD1294 full-range loudspeakers and QX Series loudspeakers with a SB828P Dual Drive Subwoofer were the idealpreserred solution.
‘The main focus was evening out the coverage, since the old system was only aimed front and down, and people on the balconies missed a lot of the sound,’ says D’Elia. ‘We flew the SB828P sub over the stage to provide plenty of low frequency throughout the room. The rear balcony was set up with a QX speaker as a delay and the main floor had an MKD1294. We also had two MKD1294s aimed over each upper balcony to provide even coverage throughout the entire space. An added bonus was getting all of the EAW speakers and subs in white, which perfectly matched the room.’
