SCV has announced a new partnership with audio software and modelling microphone pioneer Slate Digital that will see SCV take on retail distribution for the US company’s full range of plug-ins and microphone products for the UK and Ireland territories.

Founded in 2010 with operations in both Los Angeles, California and Grenoble, France; Slate Digital aims to empower music producers at every level of experience to create great-sounding music. In the years since, Slate Digital has delivered a series of innovations, from analogue emulation DAW plug-ins to an entire virtual microphone modelling ecosystem with purpose-designed hardware.
Alongside an extensive range of emulation plug-ins and bundle packs, Slate Digital provides tools for modern production techniques including the MO-TT ‘over the top’ turbo-charged dynamics processor for EDM production, the MetaTune vocal tuning plug-in, and the Storch Filter multi-effect plug created in collaboration with award-winning producer Scott Storch. All plug-ins ship with formats for every modern DAW platform, including AAX 64-bit, AU and VST2-3.
The Virtual Microphone System (VMS) extends the power of Slate Digital’s plug-in family to a hybrid system including two microphone models featuring extreme transparency. When combined with company’s modelling emulation processing suite, users can recreate the tone of a huge number of classic microphone and preamp models in a few clicks, and at a fraction of the price ofthe original articles.
Two VMS microphone models are available. The VMS ML-1 is a large-diaphragm condenser suited to vocal and instrument recording, while the ML-2 is a smaller diaphragm ‘pencil’ condenser for hard-to-reach jobs such as drums, cymbals and inside pianos.
