The Dubai campus of the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) has taken delivery of a number of RX9 downfire stabiliser systems, supplied by UAE distributor, Melody House.
Designed for close-field monitors, the Primacoustic Recoil Stabiliser is a speaker mounting device that eliminates resonant coupling between a loudspeaker and stand, while providing a stable base that reduces the recoil caused by the forward energy of the loudspeaker motion. The stabilisers have received wide approval from engineers including Al Schmitt, Daniel Lanois, Dave Bottrill, Bruce Swedien and Eddie Kramer.‘We initially tried the flat version but, as their stands are quite high, the downfire versions provided great results,’ says Melody House Acoustics Specialist, Simon Short. ‘We have sold quite a number of recoil stabilisers in the past few months, as the difference is really audible. The best part is that they work on pretty much any studio monitor and straight out of the box.’
