Having grown from its roots as a small open-air party to an event attracting 5,000 visitors and headliners such as Felix Kröcher and Ostblockschlampen, the Dolan Beats electronic music festival is helping build the profile of the German city of Schwäbisch Hall as an emerging cultural centre.
From the festival’s beginning, Livito Eventtechnik has been responsible for the technical provision for the event. ‘We used Loudspeakers from RCF as a sound reinforcement solution already last year. This year we have experienced much more popularity, and therefore the sound system has been increased accordingly’, says Livito Eventtechnik’s Andreas Schnepf.
‘This year, we used two hangs of ten HDL 30-A double 10-inch tops and four double 18-inch Sub 9006-AS as the main PA system, together with eight TTS 18MkII bass cabinets. For the DJ monitoring, we used two stacks of three HDL 26-A boxes and two HDL36-AS subs on stage.
RCF’s Shape-Designer software was used to calculate the configuration and RF compensation of the array for the event, and to send this directly to all loudspeakers via the RDNet network.
‘The system is super easy to handle and offers more than sufficient sound pressure,’ Schnepf adds. ‘The killer feature for me is the HF compensation. Once switched on and the system is right there, without any time-consuming tuning.’
