Enco’s enTranslate Mobile in-venue translation technology is making its international debut, solving the problem of how to caption/subtitle and translate presentations and discussions into the primary languages of people in the room.
enTranslate Mobile supports BYOD accessibility and multilingual inclusivity within public spaces, making in-venue and corporate broadcast content accessible to all audience members on their personal devices. Since translated captions appear directly on each user’s smartphone or tablet, venues can reduce or eliminate reliance on large video screens that would typically present translated captions.
enTranslate Mobile offers direct access to multilingual captions and translations during live events through QR codes posted in visible locations around a room. After scanning the QR code or entering a URL with their smartphone, users are redirected to a mobile-friendly website where captions immediately populate on screen. Enco’s enTranslate Language Selector provides a list of languages to choose from, and users have instant access to the live text stream upon their selection. Users can also scroll back in time to read what was said while viewing that language.
enTranslate Mobile further simplifies the user experience by not forcing people to download or install an app, as the QR Code redirects users to the solution’s responsive web design for smartphone browsers. Customers can use the translation software on-prem to remove the need for internet access, optimising security inside corporate facilities, universities, convention centres and other sensitive environments. The solution is also deployable in cloud or hybrid configurations.
‘In-room captioning is very often a requirement for the live event experience, though the costs and complexity of providing multiple translations have typically limited the scope of what businesses and event organisers can reasonably offer,’ says Enco President, Ken Frommert. ‘enTranslate Mobile provides a solution to reduce integration costs for temporary events by offering a technology that is quick to deploy, requires minimal infrastructure, and provides instant access to accurate translations in the languages that each attendee best understands.’
