Assistive listening, language interpretation and wireless communication specialist Williams AV has released a firmware update for its Infinium Auracast broadcast audio system, claiming ‘a significant milestone in the platform’s roadmap’.

Purpose-built for system integrators, Infinium features a modular architecture with separate transmitter and controller components for flexible rack integration, along with simplified transmitter installation using a single Cat5 cable for power, audio, and control. Infinium ESM firmware expands the system’s ability to scale, supporting a virtually unlimited number of transmitters and up to 20 coexisting audio channels to deliver seamless audio across larger, more complex environments.

Williams AV Auracast updateShipping with all new Infinium systems the firmware brings greater centralised control and system management, allowing integrators and AV managers to scale and manage Infinium across large, complex environments, including educational campuses, entertainment venues, convention centres, houses of worship and multi-room facilities.

‘Infinium was designed for integrators from the start,’ says Williams AV VP of International Sales & Product Management, Per Persson. ‘The ESM firmware strengthens centralized management and scalability while preserving the workflows integrators already trust.’

Among the upgrades on offer are an enhanced web-based interface enables onsite or remote management of a virtually unlimited number of transmitters and controllers. Infinium receivers can now seamlessly ‘hop’ between transmitters, providing audio coverage across large spaces and complex footprints. A hierarchical Spaces framework allows administrators to group transmitter arrays and individual transmitters into logical zones for easier monitoring. System managers can also monitor and adjust key settings for up to 90 transmitters directly from the Infinium controller’s front panel.
