Beginning with the first race in Bahrain in March, coverage of all 20 races – including practice sessions and support events – will be originated in HD, with the international feed then offered at a data rate of 42Mb/s (MPEG-2).
A number of internatioanl broadcasters – believed to include Brazil, Britain, Australia and the US – have confirmed their intention to take up the HD feed, with many other channels expected to follow suit before the season begins.
