Born into a musical family in New York, Justin Lo has since established himself as a popular arranger, producer and jazz pianist in Hong Kong. He got his start in the in the music industry in 2003 under the guidance of top Hong Kong record producer, Mark Lui. His latest venture was the Justin We Touch Live 2015 World Tour Hong Kong, staged at the Hong Kong Coliseum.

Justin We Touch Live 2015 World Tour Hong Kong,Since opening in 1983, the Coliseum has established itself as one of the most popular concert venues in Hong Kong, as well as hosting international sports events, show spectaculars and conventions. Designed around an inverted pyramid, it is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and offers a column-free space accommodating a 10,000-strong audience.

The PA system used for Justin Lo’s concerts was based around Martin Audio’s MLA. – 28 main speakers were flown on either side of the stage, each hang comprising 13 MLA elements, an MLD for down fill and 12 MLX subs. Six additional boxes were flown on the outside of each main speaker hang. Since three sides of the stage faced the audience, the extreme left and right sides of the audience were served by 20 MLA Compact elements, ten per side, flown at the outermost position of the stage. In addition, there were six MLA Compacts at the front of the stage for front fill. Stage monitoring was taken care of by 14 Martin Audio LE1200S wedges.

Justin We Touch Live 2015 World Tour Hong Kong,Although the Coliseum is not an acoustically large room in the horizontal place it does have considerable height, returning reflections into the listening area and making consistent coverage more difficult to achieve. The MLA system is well suited to vertical control, however, and precise configuration was provided by Martin Audio’s Display analysis software. MLA hangs can be configured to project sound to specified area as required, minimising unwanted reflections and bringing the sound level in all areas of a venue under control. The stage monitoring was also greatly simplifier by using the Hard Avoid feature of MLA, which enabled the performers to make better use of in-ear monitoring.

The control and flexibility of the MLA played a significant part in making the shows a success.
