The Qatar Foundation’s Education City in Doha has become home to the largest sale of Canford Audio’s D’n’A digital/analogue hybrid cables – the new 100Ω impedance cable is desigend to be used for both AES/EBU digital audio and analogue mic and line level signals, and was the subject of Fast-and-Wide’s recent Wet String Wideangle study.

In the first Middle East application of the ‘universal’, local systems integrator Baytur is installing 40km of D’n’A FST-HD in various applications across the foundation’s14 sq-km site.

‘It’s a pleasure working with such a well run and professional company as Baytur, especially on such a monumental and prestigious project as this,’ says Canford International Sales Development Manager, Emily Headon. ‘That so much of our new D’n’A cable has been chosen for use in the project is particularly pleasing since this is exactly the kind of application these cables are designed for and we hope more will follow.’

The D’n’A purchase was part of a larger cable order from Baytur, which amounts to around 455km of various cable types. This included 100km of data cables, several types of audio multicores and 24km of its BBC PSF1/6 RCM cable. This is a 50Ω miniature coaxial cable uniquely available from Canford, which has been built to BBC specifications and is for use in UHF and VHF applications.
