When Genoa’s Piazza Matteotti played host to a DJ set from Belgian star Charlotte de Witte, she was served by an Outline GTO C-12 sound system.
The event, promoted by the City of Genova and produced by RST Events and OPS Eventi, drew 8,000 people who remained in the square for the full duration of the set, with total attendance across the evening exceeding 20,000.
de Witte is one of the most recognisable names in techno worldwide and has become a fixture at the genre’s most important events – Awakenings, Sònar, Kappa FuturFestival, Coachella and Tomorrowland – where she has delivered landmark performances, including closing the main stage at Tomorrowland both in Belgium and Brazil: the first woman to achieve this at both editions. She is the founder of the independent KNTXT label and held five consecutive titles as best techno DJ in the world, from 2020 to 2025.
Within just a few hours of being announced, word of the performance had reached every corner of the world – from South Korea to Chile, across the United States and throughout Europe – and found its way onto Italian national television news. Audio was handled by rental service Show Technologies, whose Outline GTO C-12 system delivered consistent, uniform coverage across the full extent of the square. Outline Mantas systems were deployed as monitors for Charlotte de Witte at the console.
On the technical side, Giancarlo ‘Gerry’ Paladini worked on behalf of Show Technologies, handling system modelling and optimisation via Outline OpenArray 2 software. For the 12 Outline DBS 18-2 subwoofers, arranged in two groups of six, Paladini applied a 100° arc-delay configuration to distribute low-frequency energy effectively across the lateral areas of the square, combined with a cardioid arrangement – a set-up that significantly reduces low-end build-up on stage while concentrating acoustic energy towards the audience, delivering clean, controlled sound to the entire audience.
Production was handled by Alessandro Orlando and Nicolò Sasso, partners in both RST Events and OPS Eventi – leaders in the production of music, cultural and sports events at national level, with deep roots across the Ligurian territory. Both companies bring expertise in the technical and organisational management of high-profile events, overseeing every aspect from logistics and safety to communications and technical staging.
