Pro Sound Effects has announced its native panel integration for Avid Media Composer, making PSE the first – and presently only – sound effects platform to offer this capability.
Built using Avid’s Media Composer Panel SDK, this results in a faster, fully licensed sound effects workflow from early temp edits through final picture lock – a critical advantage for post-production teams working under tight deadlines on feature films, scripted television, and streaming content.
This integration gives video editors and postproduction professionals direct access to PSE’s library of more than 1.2m professionally recorded sound effects for film, television, advertising and technology without leaving the Media Composer interface.
The integration also connects to PSE’s free, cross-platform desktop app, SoundQ, allowing teams to browse, search, and organize sounds from their internal SFX libraries on local, network or cloud storage (like Avid Nexis), and import them into Media Composer bins with metadata intact.
‘Sound effects are integral to every media production project – they need to be quick and easy to access,’ says Pro Sound Effects Head of Product, Bradford Swanson. ‘We’re proud to be the first sound effects platform to offer this tight integration with Avid Media Composer.’
‘It is great to see that Avid Media Composer editors have, for the first time, access from within the editor to a massive library of professional sound effects at their fingertips with the new Pro Sound Effects extension,’ adds Avid Senior Director of Worldwide Partners & Alliances, Ray Thompson. ‘Editors now can drive greater efficiency and have more creative flexibility by leveraging PSE in the editor, allowing them to stay creative with a deep sonic toolset covering categories from A–Z.’
