API has announced the sale of a new AXS recording and mixing console to Lunar Lava Studio, a premiere music production facility located in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.

API AXS en route to Wisconsin’s Lunar Lava StudioFounded by producer and engineer Jeff Peterson, the facility is a cornerstone of the Midwest’s growing music and audio production community. Lunar Lava Studio offers recording and mixing services across a wide range of genres, with a focus on capturing musical performances with the highest quality.

‘Upgrading to the AXS was an easy choice after almost 15 years with our API 1608,’ Peterson says, ‘We loved the sound and routing of the 1608 but ran out of buses and channels on larger sessions. Moving to a 24 bus in-line console with 32 channels is a huge upgrade and API’s Final Touch Automation will let us mix even more projects on the desk while still tracking. The AXS will be the new centrepiece of the studio.’

The large-format AXS analogue console combines API sound with modern production features and unmatched reliability. Along with a customisable channel count, signature analogue signal path, modular design and flexible routing, the console features Final Touch Automation.

‘We’re very excited to have Lunar Lava Studio as part of the API family,’ says API President, Larry Droppa. ‘Lunar Lava’s ongoing commitment to high-quality audio production and investment in an AXS console shows their dedication to delivering the best possible experience to their clients.’

This AXS console joins a lineage of API analogue consoles used in iconic studios and by renowned artists around the world. With its distinctive sonic footprint, the AXS equips Lunar Lava Studio to meet the demands of both modern and traditional music production. Commissioning is scheduled for this quarter.
