A manufacturer of audio processing, conversion and authoring solutions, Jünger Audio has become the latest member of the Ravenna community.

Jünger Audio joins Ravenna communitySpecialising in channel-based audio and object-based next-generation audio formats for the broadcast industry, Jünger Audio has partnered with the Ravenna team for a while to ensure compatibility for its Audio-over-IP interface. Based on SMPTE ST2110, AES67 and other format standards, the next major release version will add the final components to fully comply with the Ravenna standard.

‘With Ravenna being one of the major players in the broadcast world, it was no question that we would join the family,’ says Jünger Audio co-CEO. Friedemann Kootz. ‘While we have been serving our Ravenna-based customers with AES67 effectively in the past, we are now able to integrate our systems into native Ravenna networks which eases the workload for network administrators and partners preferring to have single-type networks.’

With its flexAI audio processing platform, Jünger Audio has successfully helped large broadcasters, from France TV and TV Globo to premier object-based audio formats, including Dolby Atmos and MPEG-H 3D audio at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris.

With a workflow heavily reliant on AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110-41, Dolby is presenting an example workflow in the Ravenna booth at the 2024 IBC show. Jünger Audio’s flexAI S-ADM Authoring and Renderer will be showcased to demonstrate its capabilities, as well as its reliable network integration, including SMPTE ST 2110-41 Metadata-over-Ethernet transport.

‘We’re thrilled that Jünger Audio has joined our growing Ravenna community,’ says Lawo’s Andreas Hildebrand. ‘The company’s products play an essential role in many large-scale broadcast projects, from sports to news, radio and more. With the support of the Ravenna community, we’re looking forward to the future of our partnership.’
