Plasa Events has announced its first regional event in North America – Plasa Focus: Austin 2012 will take place from 22-23 February 2012 at the Renaissance Austin, Texas.
Building on the Plasa Focus: Leeds (UK) format (which broke previous attendance records in its third year), Focus: Austin will bring together members of the entertainment technology community to do business and network in a relaxed and friendly setting.
The organiser promises that the two-day event will be ‘reasonably priced’ for exhibitors and free to registered visitors: ‘A unique hard wall booth package-including furniture, power and lighting-will level the playing field and give exhibitors a simple and affordable exhibiting experience’.
The show’s regional focus is also intended to allow exhibitors to address visitors who might not attend larger industry events. Similarly, visitors will have an opportunity to experience and interact firsthand with industry-leading equipment and services without having to travel far from home. ‘These unique Plasa Focus events will provide regional opportunities for companies to give more of their staff a chance to see new products, receive training and network with vendors and peers,’ says Lori Rubinstein, Plasa’s North American Executive Director. ‘They also offer dealers, rental houses and production companies, as well as manufacturers, a terrific and inexpensive vehicle to reach new and existing customers in their own backyard.’
‘We look forward to offering our industry colleagues fresh, new business and networking opportunities through Plasa Focus: Austin and our ongoing Plasa Focus US events,’ adds Jackie Tien, Plasa’s Media & Events Director.
Plasa members will receive 'substantially reduced' pricing on exhibition space.
The initiative is one of the results of the merger of Plasa and ESTA (the leading trade association representing the North American entertainment technology industry) in 2011.
The announcement closely follows the news of a new London trade show for 2012 – liveculture.
