Addressing the requirement for a smaller ‘crosspoint switching only’ option for its Virtual Studio Manager (VSM), Lawo has announced VSM Snap – a budget-friendly control tool that offers basic VSM functionality on an LBP pushbutton panel.
VSM Snap is available for a selection of LBP pushbutton panels to control third-party gear directly, and without requiring a VSM server. VSM Snap directly addresses small matrix applications, but can also be used as a backup router control solution for a VSM system.
VSM Snap requires regular LBP pushbutton panels extended with a memory module and specific software. In this combination, an LBP panel can natively talk router control protocols, and provides processing for simple router control logic without the need for a VSM server. The panels come in sizes ranging from 17 to 51 buttons as 19-inch and desktop models.
Functionality is focused on crosspoint control in a video router using the most common protocols on the market. Specific VSM Snap software (available via download) is supplied to configure the panel as required. It is possible to run multiple VSM Snap panels within the same network and connect them to the same third-party device. For control, VSM Snap supports all of the most common control protocols natively (Leitch, Pro-Bel SW-P-08, and nVision).
VSM Snap panels can be ordered directly from Lawo, and are delivered pre-configured to customer’s needs.
